People from all walks of life and ethnic groups were brutally beaten and murdered in their quest for voting rights for all Americans. These foot soldiers for justice are the reasons why we have the right to vote. However, this belief is being challenged by a resurgence of the old, and other sections of the United States, by the new face of the Republican Party. In the meantime, the battle is not over. The journey isn’t complete. Therefore, my artwork called “Highway 80: Journey to the Right to Vote” is dedicated to those who established the path for true justice in America, which has not been fully achieved in this nation. Now the journey toward true justice is human rights continue.
