When I lived in Washington, D.C. in the early 1990s, I attended the African Street Festival in Brooklyn, New York. The size of this unique annual festival was astonishing. I had never witnessed such a magnificent scenery in my life of so many people of African descent from around the world in one location. This painting is one of a series of paintings that I created from my experience and participation in this event during my employment with Nile Valley Enterprises in Washington, D.C.
