I thank the Creator daily for Black women of Alkebulan ancestry. Every different race of humankind on planet earth originated from Black women. Unfortunately, for the past five hundred years, the western world has psychologically conditioned the rest of the world to look upon women of African descent in an unfavorable way, especially in the United States. Black women are the strongest and most beautiful women in the world. They have withstood torture, rape, and humiliation inflicted upon them for many generations, especially during the worse form of slavery ever in the history of the world in the United States of America. It is so astonishing how they continue to thrive in such a hostile and racist environment. This painting was created for a special exhibition at Hampton University in dedication to Black women of the Reconstruction Period between 1860 through 1880.
