This painting was created in dedication to the teenagers who stood up against the injustice Jim crow laws in Birmingham, Alabama during the 1960s. The fire department of Birmingham had just sprayed this young man with a powerful fireman water holes pipe. Instead of using a gun for protection, he used his body as a shield against injustice in the United States.
